Wuhan Huazhong Numerical Control Co., Ltd. (HCNC) was founded in 1994. HCNC is providing mainly the following products,Numerical control system: with independent IP, and the winner of National Sci-tech Progress Prize awarded by the central government and the Ministry of Education. More than 10 thousand Century Star numerical controllers of different classes have been sold to a dozen of national renowned tool machine manufacturers. HCNC’s 5-axis numerical controller product broke the blockage of foreign countries, and became the first whole-China-made high class numerical control equipment used in Chinese war industry.

Servo drives: independent IP digital AC servo drive unit and principal axis servo drive unit series. More than 25 thousand units have been sold.

Infrared thermography system: independent IP focal plane thermography systems. They are widely used in industries of electricity power, chemicals, metallurgy, and army supplies.

HCNC has 9 products which are certified as the National Key New Product, and formed a numerical control application product line of more than 30 models for lathes, milling machines, processing centers, profile modeling, rollers, non-round-gear-fan gear shapers, rack gear shaper, boring lathes, laser processing, glass machines, textile machines, medical equipments, etc.

HCNC has a sales, marketing and post-sale service team with technical background, among which 80% are holding bachelor’s degree or above. Dozens of employees with bachelor and doctor degrees are serving for R&D of the company. Jointly with Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), HCNC set up the National CNC Engineering Research Center which is representing the highest academic standard in numerical control area in China, and was named as the National High-tech Industry Base by the Ministry of Science and Technology. Depending on the company’s achievement, HCNC is also applying for foundation of the National Manufacturing Equipment Engineering Research Center, which is going to be approved by National Develop and Reform Commission.

In 2005, HCNC was awarded as the Innovative Enterprise, and Software Enterprise of Excellence of Hubei province. In August 2006, HCNC was listed in 103 Innovative Example and Test Enterprises by the Ministry of Science & Technology, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and All China Federation of Trade Unions.

In September 2001, HCNC moved into its new industry base located in the Science Park of Huazhong University of Science & Technology. The new base is of 11600 square meters with high performance numerical control production line, advanced R&D center and quality control center. The base is capable of manufacturing 3000 sets numerical control systems every year. The foundation of the base means a new step for Chinese numerical control industry.
